Hope to see you there.

Save a Tree, Use a Digital Map

Want a map you can use on your GPS-enabled smartphone while you ski? Look no further, here’s how to use a digital map even when you don’t have cell service or an Internet connection.
Step 1: Avenza Maps (formerly known as PDF Maps) is a free smartphone app that works with georeferenced maps and displays your location on the map using GPS positioning. Click on the link below to learn how to download the app.
Step 2: The U.S. Forest Service has created a new 2017 map for the Meissner Sno-Park Trails. Click on the link below to download the map. After you download the digital map you’ll need to load it into Avenza Maps on your smartphone in order to use it.
Or if you have a QR barcode scanner app installed you can download the digital map directly to your smartphone using this barcode.

Regardless of which method you use to download the map, you should do the download at home prior to coming to the Sno-Park because Internet connections are spotty in the forest.
Step 3: Using the digital map is fairly straightforward. Open the Avenza Maps app and load the Meissner Sno-Park Trails map. The first time you use the map it’ll take Avenza Maps a minute to process the map data, then on subsequent uses it’ll open immediately. When you ski around the Meisser trails with GPS location services turned on you’ll see a blue dot indicating your location on the map. You don’t need cell service or an Internet connection, all you need is a GPS signal which is available all over the Meissner trail system. Here’s an example of what the Meissner Sno-Park Trails map looks like in Avenza Maps on an Android phone.

Beer Drawing for 2016-2017 Supporters

We want to show our appreciation to all of the Meissner Nordic Supporters. On March 31st we will be doing a drawing from this years list of supporters. The lucky winner will get a case of 20-inch Brown from Cascade Lakes Brewery. If you aren’t a 2016-2017 supporter yet and want to get in on this drawing please visit our website and become supporter. We appreciate any amount of donation. You must be 21 years or older to receive the prize. Thank you again for the support, without it we would not have any sweet corduroy.

To become a supporter click the link below and follow the “Become a Supporter” in the upper right corner.

Thank you to Cascade Lakes for supplying this prize.

Luminaria 2017 had a big turnout and an even bigger snow dragon! We estimate 800 or more skiers and snowshoers came out for the event and followed the line of luminarias to the Meissner Warming Shelter where the snow dragon lives. Thank you to all who participated and helped make it a fun event!
